Position Overview

1-800-GOT-JUNK? is looking for a driven and experienced General Manager to lead operations for our Birmingham franchise location. The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the business, including achieving daily, weekly, monthly, and annual revenue targets, while managing expenses, team performance, and operational excellence.

This role oversees all aspects of the business—including operations, sales, marketing, finances, and people leadership—and plays a key role in building a strong team culture while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Branch Management & Business Performance

  • Oversee the overall health and P&L performance of the franchise location

  • Execute quarterly goals and the annual operating plan

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational expenses

  • Review monthly financials and provide recommendations to ownership

  • Maintain brand standards and uphold the reputation of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? within the territory

Operations & Administration

  • Lead daily operational performance and support the operations team

  • Ensure efficient route planning, dispatch, and truck team scheduling

  • Partner with fleet leadership to maintain vehicles and equipment

  • Manage job scheduling systems and reporting

  • Ensure excellent customer service and timely job execution

  • Support accounts receivable management and operational reporting

Sales & Marketing

  • Achieve defined sales targets

  • Oversee local marketing initiatives to increase market presence

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners and customers

  • Identify opportunities for repeat and referral business

People & Culture

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing team members

  • Foster a positive workplace culture built on collaboration and growth

  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback

  • Promote a culture focused on people, safety, and sales excellence


Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or general management experience

  • Strong operations and team leadership background

  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and business performance

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced service environment

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles if required
