Live-Out Nanny

Solo Los Angeles, California Parent, is looking to hire an education-focused Nanny who genuinely enjoys being around toddlers. The fully engaging Nanny will focus primarily on educating his 14-month-old son regarding colors, numbers, alphabet, planets, books, his cardboard pirate ship, and their newly created backyard garden as another focus of fun learning. etc., and will follow a NO "staring at their phone" policy during playtime, etc. The little boy does not participate in any screen time currently. He loves to read, play with his toys, walk in the front and backyard, and take trips to the park up the street in his stroller.

The dad is a "contact sleeper," and he practices an attached parent style:
Their current schedule for a typical day is as follows:

6:15 am - Dad and child awake. They shower and have breakfast, and music/reading/play
7:30 am - 8:30- 9:00 am Nap
9:30 am - Playtime with Nanny. Brunch made by Nanny, followed by reading time and outdoor play
Noon-ish - Nap for a few hours
3:00 pm - Wake up from nap
3:45 pm - A trip to the park, then back home to settle
5:00 pm - Dinner, then winding down 
6:15 pm - Sleep

A candidate with diversity of thought, experience, and/or identity is extremely important to Dad. His son is sensitive, compassionate, silly, and extremely bright...traits that dad wants to continue to support as his son "as he grows and matures into the person he came here to be."

Requested Duration: Ideally until the child begins Kindergarten, potentially beyond. Must be available to start Late July to overlap/shadow the current Nanny for 1 week. She will sadly be leaving the family July 31, 2025, to pursue a career in higher education. 

About the Family:
Adults: Solo Parent. The boy's grandma moved in last year as part of Dad's loving village to help care for his son. His sister's and other family members visit from time to time throughout the year.

Position Responsibilities

  • Childcare: (B) 14 months old Childcare is Top priority. The Nanny will be responsible for maintaining the tidiness of the children's area/common spaces used
  • Cooking: Simple meals such as vegetables, scrambled eggs, or avocados (guacamole) will be prepared by the Nanny. They eat holistically from farmers' markets. Dad usually cooks fish and chicken on Sunday nights for his son, which can be reheated during the week. 
  • Laundry: Children's only.

Position Requirements

  • Work Hours: M-F 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Must be available to start Mid-Late July to overlap/shadow the current Nanny who will sadly be leaving the family July 31, 2025, to pursue a career in higher education.
  • Domestic Travel only on occasion, additional compensation will be provided
  • Languages: English

  • Background: Background check upon a contingent offer of hire

Position Compensation

  • Salary: $36- $45. hr through payroll, willing to consider offering a Health Insurance stipend if needed.
  • Vacation: Yes
