Private family is looking to hire an experienced Live-in Domestic Couple for their weekend home in Sagaponack, NY. The couple generally only the home Memorial Day - Labor Day on a Thursday - Monday schedule so those will be the work days...days off are Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional family and other guests will visit and stay at the residence in the summer, the home is very busy but on the long off-season, the home is very quiet. The residence is 18,000 square feet.
JOB ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
The family will only typically be at the house from Memorial Day through more or less Labor Day weekend, starting on Thursday afternoons or Friday afternoons or evenings through Sunday nights or Monday mornings. Then, except for some occasional weekends during the Fall, Spring or Winter, so the rest of the year, the house is mostly unused while it needs to be totally maintained in pristine condition year-round. But hours of work except for the summer months will be easy, simple and virtually free of stress. During the summer, hours may be long. Time off is generally Tuesday and Wednesday each week.
Roles and Responsibilities for the Housekeeper:
- Laundry – Personal Clothing, Towels, All Bedding, Kitchen Linens When Used, Any Pressing and Steaming When/If Needed.
- Daily Housekeeping Bedrooms - Make All Beds Changing Sheets as Family and Guests Leave, Maintain All Bathrooms (Showers. Sinks, Toilets Floors, Paper-goods, Towels Garbage, Soaps, Shampoos)
- Kitchen – Clean After Meals, Plates, Glasses, Mugs, Utensils, into Dishwasher or Handwash if Appropriate, Clean Pots and Pans, Any and All Cook Wear. Maintain All Appliances (Stovetop, Ovens, Refrigerators and Freezers, Microwave). Keep all Drawers and Cabinets and Contents of Same Clean and Organized.
- Meal Service – Assist in Serving at Breakfast and Lunch and When Guests Are Present, During Cocktails, Dinner or Dessert Along with Clean-Up. If Extra Hours or Unusually Long Night Beyond Reasonable and Usual, We Will Compensate with Extra Bonus Money. Note That I ALWAYS take great care of my staff!
- General Housework along with the Butler/Houseman – Dusting, Vacuuming, Garbage, Windows, Maintain All Outdoor Furniture (Patio and Roof Deck), BBQ Grills (Patio and Roof Deck)
- Grocery Shopping along with “Him” – Make Grocery and Food Shopping List and Cleaning Supplies List, Grocery Shopping As Needed, Assist with Errands as Needed.
Roles and Responsibilities For Houseman/Butler:
- Preparation and Clean-Up of Simple Breakfasts – Eggs, Bagels/Toast/Muffins etc., French Toast/Pancakes/Waffles, Oatmeal and Cereals, Fruits, Juices, Occasional Smoothies, Coffee/Tea etc.
- Preparation and Clean-Up of Simple Lunches – Sandwiches, Sides, Chips, Salads, Occasional BBQ items (Burgers, Hot Dogs etc.) Cold Beverages.
- Assist in Serving Guests – Set-Ups for Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Drinks (Soft Drinks, Waters, Beers, Mixers, Wine etc.) and Snacks (Chips, Guacamole, Salsa, Dips etc.)
- Set-Up for Dinner When Staying In.
- Assist with Clean Up of Dinners.
- Daily Housekeeping Bedrooms - Make All Beds Changing Sheets as Family and Guests Leave, Maintain All Bathrooms (Showers. Sinks, Toilets Floors, Paper-goods, Towels Garbage, Soaps, Shampoos)
- Kitchen Other – Assist in Keeping all Drawers and Cabinets and Contents, Cook Wear of Same Clean and Organized.
- Meal Service – Assist in Serving When Guests Are Present, During Cocktails, Dinner or Dessert Along with Clean-Up.
- General Housework along with the Housekeeper – Dusting, Vacuuming, Garbage, Windows, Maintain All Outdoor Furniture (Patio and Roof Deck), BBQ Grills (Patio and Roof Deck)
- Grocery Shopping along with Housekeeper – Make Grocery and Food Shopping List and Cleaning Supplies List, Grocery Shopping As Needed, Assist with Errands and Driving as Needed.
- Assist Family and Guests with Luggage and Other Personal Items. Note: Must Be Able to Reasonably Lift Somewhat Heavy Items (i.e. Luggage).
- Pool – Close Automatic Pool Cover at Night and Skim Pool Daily in the Morning to Keep Clean and Inviting.
- Lock Doors at Night When Family Isn’t Home. When Family is Home, Lock All Doors Except Front Door
- Track Any Maintenance Issues with Home (Inside and Outside) To Report to Fernando (Home Maintenance Chief)
Other:
(a) During the Summer Season, Carmen Pacheco and a Professional Cleaning Crew Will Come Every Friday to Perform an Extra Deep Cleaning of the House (Bedrooms, Bathrooms etc.) supplementing the Domestic Couple.
(b) Roles and Responsibilities (i.e. Cooking versus Serving) can be Interchangeably Assigned to either of the Domestic Couple (Him or Her).
(c) All Home Maintenance (Repairs etc.) Are Undertaken, Managed and Supervised by 2 Forces Home Construction Other Than Simple Tasks (i.e. Changing Light Bulbs).
(d) Both Domestic Couple Members Must Speak English with Decent Proficiency and Must be Documented and Legal to Work.
(e) An Automobile (Currently a 4 Door 2025 Jeep High Altitude) is Provided At the House For Use In Connection with All Work Related Tasks. Available For Occasional Personal Use.
(f) During the Months of December and January, Vacation May Be Taken. 3 Weeks of Vacation Time Per Year Are Fully Compensated.
(g) They Keep a Kosher “Style” Home. No Shell Fish or Pork Products, To Be Cooked, Kept or Consumed In Our Home.
