Full-Time Professional Housekeeper (Live-In/Live-Out with Seasonal Flexibility)

Location: Chelsea, New York, NY (Live-Out) & The Hamptons, NY (Live-In – Summer)
Schedule: 5 Days Per Week | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM | Flexibility Required
Compensation: $1,400–$1,500 per week (commensurate with experience)
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation | Private accommodations in the Hamptons during summer

Overview

A warm, mature couple based in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City is seeking a dedicated, dog-loving, and detail-oriented full-time housekeeper to join their household team. This is a long-term opportunity for a responsible, kind, and experienced professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating an organized, well-maintained home.

The role requires seasonal flexibility: live-out in Manhattan (September–May) and live-in with the family in the Hamptons during the summer months (June–August). A deep love of dogs is essential, as the family has two beloved Labradoodles and will occasionally require pet-sitting when they travel.

Flexible with workdays (schedule may vary week to week)
Experienced with high-end household standards
Comfortable with domestic travel and driving
English and Spanish speaking preferred

Primary Responsibilities

Full-charge housekeeping of a 3,500 sq. ft. Manhattan apartment and an 11,000 sq. ft. Hamptons home
Family laundry and ironing, including fine garments and linens
Organizing closets, storage areas, and pantries
Errand running: dry cleaning, post office, light shopping, etc.
Driving as needed (must have valid driver’s license)
Pet care, including feeding, walking, bathing, and overnight stays when the principals are away
Light household support for special projects or events

Current Staff: Long-tenured housekeeper in the Hamptons (20 years); NYC housekeeper of 15 years soon on maternity leave

Requirements

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar role in private homes
Strong, verifiable references (minimum of 2 required)
Background check required upon contingent offer of hire
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Valid driver’s license
English fluency required; Spanish a plus
