The Role
We are seeking a very special human being to support a bright, warm, and determined young woman with cerebral palsy who is living independently and attending college.
This is not just a jobâitâs a partnership. Youâll become a vital part of her support team, working closely with her and her dedicated mom to ensure she continues her path toward a happy, fulfilling, and independent life. This is a long-term role and the family hopes you will be with their daughter for many years!
You will be trained by her current assistant, who has been with her for nearly two years and will help you transition smoothly into this trusted role.

Help with mobility (walker/wheelchair), personal care, and meals
Track assignments, assist with research, outlining, editing, and formatting
Attend classes and take notes, if needed
Communicate/coordinate with professors, tutors, and university staff
Help her stay organized and on top of her workload
Schedule and manage all doctorsâ appointments and therapies, ensuring handicap accessibility ahead of time
Organize medical records and referrals
Handle insurance claims, out-of-network reimbursements, and appeals
Communicate with healthcare providers, therapist, and psychiatrist when needed
Stay calm and grounded if sheâs overwhelmed, help her stay on track
Help her regulate and return to center
Be a steady, grounding presence she can rely on
Track expenses, pay rent and bills, manage reimbursements
Handle basic meal prep
Coordinate with the housekeeper and home maintenance tasks
Answer calls, emails, and textsâboth personal and academic
Assist with travel planning and ensure accessibility accommodations
Assist with light grooming (e.g., brushing hair, washing hands/face, applying sunscreen)
Support her in reaching personal lifestyle goals
Celebrate small victories with her
Help care for her sweet, small dog
This is a pivotal time in her life. She is growing, thriving, and navigating new responsibilitiesâbut she canât do it alone. Her current personal assistant has been a rock, and as she transitions to someone new, your role will be essential in keeping her momentum going.
You will be her support system, her advocate, and her cheerleader. You will also be a trusted partner to her mom, who is incredibly loving and involved. Together, your shared goal is to help her daughter stay on a steady path of growth, resilience, and joy.
