emergiTEL is hiring a Manager, Application Development for our client in the payments / financial services industry. This is a Permanent role.
Compensation: $88,000 – $110,000 annually

Job Description (English)
Role Summary
- Lead day-to-day delivery across application development teams, ensuring consistent execution across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Accountable for delivery outcomes aligned with architectural direction, security standards, quality, and timelines.
- Combine people leadership, delivery management, and technical expertise, remaining hands-on when required to ensure delivery success.
- Report to the Senior Director, Application Development Business Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee application development activities aligned with business priorities, architecture, and security standards.
- Partner with Architects to translate solution designs into executable delivery plans.
- Own end-to-end SDLC delivery including requirements readiness, design, build, testing coordination, deployment, and operational transition.
- Manage capacity planning, work intake, prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Maintain delivery schedules, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks and issues.
- Remove delivery roadblocks across Infrastructure, Security, QA, Release Management, and vendor teams.
- Ensure strong engineering practices, including code reviews, branching strategies, and quality gates.
- Provide hands-on support as needed (design input, troubleshooting, incident resolution, code reviews).
- Enforce development policies, standards, and secure coding practices.
- Ensure audit and compliance readiness, including change control, traceability, and evidence management.
- Drive team performance through coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Provide clear, regular reporting to leadership on delivery progress, risks, and status.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Key Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5–7+ years of experience in application development.
- 2–3+ years in a leadership or people management role.
- Strong SDLC and Agile delivery experience, including release management and deployment planning.
- Experience leading complex software initiatives in enterprise environments.
- Strong collaboration experience with Architects and senior technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of code quality practices, automated testing, and maintainable design patterns.
- Experience with security-first development practices.
- Exposure to audit and compliance environments (change management, traceability, evidence collection).
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and prioritization skills.
- Experience working with vendors and external partners.
