Control and Reconciliation Associate

Join a leading global financial institution as a Control and Reconciliation Associate, where you’ll play a key role in maintaining accuracy and compliance within critical financial operations.

About the Role

As a Senior Associate within the Control and Reconciliation team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and consistent data across the organization’s systems of record. You’ll perform key reconciliations (Front Office to Back Office, Borrower-in-Custody, Nostro/Wash Accounts, Ledger to Sub-ledger, and others), investigate exceptions, and provide insightful reporting to senior management.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of banking operations and reconciliation processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily reconciliations of foreign, internal, subsidiaries, funds transfer, loan wash, and syndication accounts using reconciliation tools.
  • Monitor exception reports and coordinate with operations teams to resolve outstanding items promptly.
  • Prepare monthly certifications, dashboards, and management reports highlighting key metrics and exceptions.
  • Investigate unresolved items on Nostro and suspense accounts, escalating issues as required.
  • Support the preparation of monthly KRI dashboards and provide data for management reporting.
  • Collaborate with Treasury and other departments to ensure timely resolution of aged and foreign currency reconciliation items.
  • Serve as a liaison between global branches and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries related to operational procedures.
  • Assist with systems upgrades, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide backup support to other team members as needed.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; experience with database tools such as MS Access is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation best practices.
  • Experience using reconciliation and loan accounting systems (e.g., Intellimatch, ACBS, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a sense of urgency and accountability.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial banking operations, preferably within a control, reconciliation, or accounting unit.
