Our dynamic and multidisciplinary medical clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse (RN or RPN) to join our team. This role is a temporary replacement for nurses on leave. You will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality patient care by performing a wide range of clinical, medical, and administrative tasks. Your work will be essential in supporting our team of physicians and ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our diverse patient population.
Clinical & Nursing Techniques (under physician supervision/request):
Assist physicians during various surgical and minor procedure.
Perform medical procedures such as dressing changes, suture removal, resting ECGs, and ear irrigation.
Administer vaccines and other medications as directed.
Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure (Bp TRU), pre-consultation.
Perform sample collections (e.g., blood, urine).
Weigh and measure pediatric patients.
Medical Activities:
Intervene in emergency situations, such as vasovagal syncope or patient discomfort.
Verify and follow up on medical results in the absence of physicians.
Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical and gynecological instruments.
Perform routine checks of emergency equipment and medication expiration dates.
Conduct patient follow-up tasks as transmitted by physicians, including explaining test results, prescriptions, and providing medical advice.
Administrative & Clinic Support:
Place and receive orders for medical supplies.
Manage inventory levels for vaccines, medical supplies, and medications.
Schedule preventative maintenance for medical devices (e.g., defibrillators, ECG machines).
Ensure doctors' offices and exam rooms are fully stocked with necessary supplies.
Supervise the collection and disposal of biomedical waste.
Certification: Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN/LPN) with the provincial licensing body.
Bilingualism: High fluency in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. (Our clientele is predominantly French-speaking).
Autonomy & Organization: Demonstrated initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Collaboration: A strong team spirit and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an emergency department, walk-in clinic, or family medicine unit (GMF).
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and patient-facing skills to interact with a diverse clientele.
Resilience: Strong stress tolerance and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced or emergency situations.
