About the Role:
My client is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to manage complex accounting tasks that ensure the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger. This role falls within the Controlling function and plays a critical part in managing financial controls and preparing reports for both internal management and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to escalated inquiries regarding accounting issues and financial reports.
Prepare key financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
Review and verify journal entries and accounting classifications for accuracy.
Analyze complex accounting variances and make recommendations related to reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Maintain and reconcile billings and accounts receivables for large clients or accounts.
Perform month-end closing tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Prepare and reconcile balance sheets, ensuring accurate data flow between systems.
Review financial statements for compliance with accounting standards and requirements.
Apply established accounting principles and procedures to complete tasks and resolve routine problems.
Act as a knowledge resource within the team, sharing insights across multiple accounting disciplines.
Lead by example, modeling professional values and work ethic.
Contribute to process improvement and maintain high standards of work quality across the team.
Clearly communicate complex information in an understandable manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Solid understanding of accounting procedures and the ability to solve moderately complex problems.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply sound judgment using technical knowledge.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and curious-minded.
Advanced math and financial calculation skills, including percentages and fractions.
