Clarity are recruiting a Senior Hospital Pharmacist in Drogheda, Co. Louth
What you need to know:
- This is a temporary full-time role (4-month contract) with the possibility of extension.
- Monday to Friday, 9am – 4.30pm (35 hours/week).
- While full-time candidates are preferred, those seeking part-time hours may also be considered.
- The hospital is a 500-bed Model 3 acute care facility with a large catchment area serving over 300,000 people in the North East.
- Salary and terms are aligned with HSE pay scales.
What you'll be doing:
- Participate in the delivery of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service – including medication reconciliation, patient education, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Oversee and assist in the efficient running of the hospital dispensary, including procurement, storage, and supply of medications.
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department, including liaising with nursing and medical teams.
- Participate in the implementation and use of electronic prescribing and automated dispensing systems.
- Contribute to staff management, training, and ongoing quality improvement projects within the pharmacy department.
- Be actively involved in education, research, and service development.

What we require:
- Must be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or eligible to register.
- Minimum of three years post-registration hospital experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) required for the role.
