We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Manager to oversee operations of the histology department in our medical laboratory. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with strong technical knowledge of histology, experience managing staff, and certification through ASCP as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histology Technician (HT). This role is critical to maintaining compliance, ensuring accurate and timely results, and driving workflow efficiency.
Oversee daily operations of the histology department, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Supervise staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Maintain and update standard operating procedures and laboratory manuals.
Monitor quality control and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, serviced, and replaced as needed.
Manage supply inventory and vendor relationships.
Lead safety practices and maintain readiness for inspections at all times.
Collaborate with physicians, pathologists, and laboratory leadership to support patient care.
Associate’s degree in a scientific field required; Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with histology expertise.
ASCP certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histology Technician (HT) strongly preferred.
Knowledge of histology QC/QA processes, regulatory compliance, and workflow management.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to meet CAP requirements for Laboratory Supervisor.
Familiarity with histology and pathology lab equipment (autostainers, microtomes, cryostats, etc.).
Competitive salary (market range $120,000 – $150,000 depending on experience)
