Company Overview
We are a growing small-to-mid-sized manufacturing company based in Columbus, Ohio. Our focus is on quality, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead our finance and accounting operations. This role offers a hybrid remote schedule, blending flexibility with on-site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting to support executive decision-making.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Manage inventory accounting and standard costing processes unique to manufacturing operations.
  • Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership to align financial data with operational goals.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support audits, compliance, and tax filings.

Work Arrangement
  • Hybrid schedule: Approximately 3 days per week on-site in Columbus, 2 days remote.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required;
  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 5 + years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and ERP systems (experience with Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite preferred).
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing accounting teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and support strategic growth initiatives.
