Regulatory Paralegal – Managed Care Organization (100% Remote)
Location: Remote – Open to candidates residing in the following states only: AZ, ID, NM, UT, WA 
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST
Type: Temp-to-Perm
Compensation: $32-$34/hr - Benefits offered: Medical, Dental and Vision Plan - 401(k)-No Match

This is a 100% remote opportunity for an experienced Regulatory Paralegal to join a high-performing legal team supporting health plans across multiple states. The ideal candidate will bring a background in regulatory filings, corporate governance, and multistate healthcare compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare regulatory filings and related documentation required by federal and state agencies

  • Support responses to regulatory audits, exams, and inquiries

  • Prepare and maintain corporate governance documents (e.g., articles, bylaws, board resolutions, operating agreements)

  • Assist with name reservations, business licenses, fictitious name filings, and foreign qualifications

  • Maintain and update tracking logs for subsidiaries, officers/directors, intercompany agreements, and licenses

  • Support legal functions related to holding company filings and intercompany agreements

  • Conduct legal research focused on statutes and regulations governing health maintenance organizations, holding companies, and healthcare corporations

  • Assist in organizing and managing legal records in electronic document storage systems

  • Provide administrative and research support to health plans, attorneys, M&A activities, and proposal teams

  • Assist with trademark management and support marketing on IP matters

  • Coordinate notarizations for directors and executives

  • Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with regulators and internal stakeholders


Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of paralegal experience, with at least 3 years in managed healthcare or a related regulatory healthcare environment

  • Associate Degree or Paralegal Certificate required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace, and multistate regulatory frameworks

  • Familiarity with NAIC regulations and state insurance department portals

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), Westlaw, and SharePoint. Experience with iManage and document management systems a plus

  • Excellent organizational skills, writing ability, and attention to detail

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently, handle large volumes of documentation, and manage competing deadlines


Preferred Attributes

  • Experience supporting legal, compliance, or corporate governance functions within a health plan or MCO

  • Comfortable working with remote teams and legal professionals across multiple time zones

  • Long-term interest in converting to a permanent role with a growing organization
