Job Title: VA Underwriter (Active LAPP/SAR Required)
Location: Remote (Must reside in any U.S. state except California)
Schedule: Full-Time | Eastern Standard Time (EST) Hours Required

Overview:
We’re partnering with a well-established lender seeking an experienced VA Underwriter to join their team. This is a fully remote opportunity, but candidates must be located outside of California and available to work full-time Eastern Time hours.

Key Requirements (Must-Have):

• Must have actively underwritten and signed off VA loans using an active LAPP/SAR within the last 11 months

• Current VA LAPP/SAR designation

• Deep understanding of VA lending guidelines and documentation requirements

• Must reside in a U.S. state other than California (client is not registered to employ in California)

• Must be available to work a full-time Eastern Standard Time (EST) schedule

Responsibilities:

• Review and underwrite VA loans in accordance with VA, investor, and company guidelines

• Evaluate credit, income, assets, and property documentation to assess loan eligibility

• Issue conditionally approved and final loan decisions using LAPP/SAR credentials

• Ensure compliance with all VA regulations, including Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and residual income calculations

• Maintain turn time, accuracy, and quality expectations

• Collaborate with internal departments to support smooth and timely closings

• Stay current on VA guideline updates and policy changes
