Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Loan Manager to lead their loan operations team. This individual will be responsible for underwriting oversight, team management, pipeline development, and ensuring compliance with lending standards. The role is a hybrid position based in Indianapolis, offering an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization focused on impactful community lending.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support a team of four; foster collaboration and skill development.
Underwriting Oversight: Conduct in-depth credit analysis and risk assessments; prepare and present loan recommendations.
Portfolio & Risk Management: Monitor portfolio performance and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Pipeline Growth & Relationship Management: Proactively manage and expand the loan pipeline; cultivate relationships with borrowers and key stakeholders.
Collections & Delinquency Strategy: Oversee delinquent loan management and collections with an emphasis on minimizing risk and loss.
Process Optimization: Identify and implement technology-driven improvements in loan operations.
Strategic Alignment: Contribute to the development and execution of departmental goals in alignment with broader organizational objectives.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of progressive experience in commercial loan structuring and underwriting.
Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS) and Microsoft 365 (Excel required).
Demonstrated ability to assess complex financial data and make sound credit decisions.
Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
Must be local to the Indianapolis area; no relocation assistance provided.

Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 remote
Minimal travel (up to 10%)
Comfortable working at a desk for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
