Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a dynamic and innovative nonprofit organization who is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Employment Type: 1 Day Contract
Salary: $70,000

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complex invoices and account reconciliations for government, commercial, and inter-company clients.
  • Review, analyze, and research unbilled accounts receivable against standard Costpoint Financial reports monthly and annually.
  • Review, certify, and post all accounts receivable activity each month.
  • Monitor and coordinate monthly close, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Resolve any pending or outstanding issues on the Aged Receivables.
  • Prepare cash receipt offsets for refund requests, penny differences, or invoice reversals/credits.
  • Set up billing information screens and billing formulas for new projects/option years in the Costpoint system.
  • Create new customer profiles in Costpoint to prepare billings.
  • Review contracts and modifications to understand contractual billing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Director/Project Managers to prepare yearly or final financial reports for grants.
  • Assist with audits by providing and explaining samples selected by external auditors.
  • Provide backup assistance with Accounts Payable tasks, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in billing.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar accounting and reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with all government contract types (Cost Plus, T&M, FFP, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of billing and revenue cycles.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining high efficiency and accuracy.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
