Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in data processing, cloud platforms, and modern data technologies. This role requires a local candidate in the Portland area with current or prior Nike DE experience. You’ll be joining a collaborative team working on cutting-edge data solutions within a fast-paced, agile environment.

Nice to Have:

Tools: Collibra, Hackolade
Experience in Data Migration strategy and tooling.
Familiarity with migration tools and frameworks or custom-built solutions to move data from Snowflake to Databricks.
Post-migration validation strategies: checksums, row counts, performance benchmarks.

Core Qualifications:

Current or Former NIKE experience is required
Strong data engineering fundamentals: ETL, data modeling, data lineage, governance, partitioning & optimization, and data migration.
Deep knowledge of Databricks (Apache Spark, DB SQL, Delta Lake, Delta Share, Notebooks, Workflows, RBAC, Unity Catalog, encryption & compliance).
Advanced SQL skills: performance tuning, stored procedures, triggers, schema design.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases: MSSQL/MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis.
Solid knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools: Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Talend, or Alteryx.
Excellent knowledge of coding and architectural design patterns.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Familiar with Agile methodologies, Git, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience/training.
Team: 2 Lead Engineers, 1 FTE Engineer, 4 ETWs
