EnTech is seeking a full-time “Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist” skilled in preparing Phase I/II environmental investigations remedial investigations and remedial action work plans for the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program, the New York City Voluntary Cleanup Program, the NYC E-Designation Program, petroleum spill, New York State Superfund, EPA Superfund and other government mandated environmental cleanup programs. Must be familiar with sample collection and analysis of environmental media, including soil, groundwater and soil vapor, community air monitoring plans, community participation plans, program application and enrollment processes and other core program elements. Must be qualified to be a Qualified Environmental Professional in New York State have at least eight years of remediation project experience in New York State including a minimum of three years of project management experience in NYC. The ideal candidate will be either a professional Engineer or Professional Geologist in New York State and possess excellent communication skills, familiarity with environmental report writing, and experience with junior staff supervision.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participating in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Investigations
Developing remedial documents for all remediation programs managed by government regulators at NYC Office of Environmental Remediation and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, including:
Enrollment applications
Preparing Remedial Investigation Work Plans and Reports
Preparing Remedial Action Work Plans and Final Engineering Reports
Preparing Site Management Plans
Preparing cost estimates and proposals for remedial work
Educating clients on program requirements and negotiating work plans with government regulators
Performing final inspections and site management periodic inspections
Preparing environmental permit applications and SEQR/CEQR regulatory determinations
Preparing Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and preparing associated reports
Preparing remedial action work plans (RAP) and Construction Health & Safety Plans (CHASP)
Supervising junior staff and scheduling/coordinating fieldwork.
Oversight of staff overseeing field work performed in NYC required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Geological Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, or another related field preferred & 8 years of environmental experience
Excellent research and data analysis skills
Excellent all-round computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and Excel
Familiarity with NYSDEC regulations including Part 375, Part 360, DER-10 and CP-51
Proven organizational skills, working in a calm, logical way to deliver tasks efficiently.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with multiple colleagues, peers, and external clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geological Science, Environmental Science, or related field.
New Jersey/ New York PE License (Preferred)
NJ LSRP Certification
Experience with environmental permitting
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training / Current 8-Hour Refresher Training
DEC Endorsed Four-Hour Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) Training
Experience with AutoCAD, GIS
Hazmat Certifications
Valid Driver License
