Our client is looking for a Senior Solution Architect to drive both integration architecture (IIB/ACE/MQ) and the evolution toward a hybrid cloud infrastructure model.

In this role, you will lead a team of approximately 10 engineers and define the technical direction across integration platforms and infrastructure architecture. You will contribute to the extension of the current on-premise data center toward a private cloud model, while ensuring consistency, scalability, and automation across the IT landscape.

You will act as a technical leader and coach, ensuring alignment with business strategy, architectural standards, and delivery excellence. In collaboration with the Scrum Master (SM), Product Owner (PO), and Project Manager (PM), you will drive solution definition, prioritization, and implementation.

Primary Responsibilities

Architecture & Strategy

• Define and own the target architecture for:
  • Integration platforms (IIB, ACE, MQ)
  • Hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premise and private cloud
• Contribute to the business and IT strategy, translating it into scalable technical solutions
• Lead the migration from IIB v9 to ACE v12
• Establish architecture principles, standards, and reusable patterns across teams
• Define workload placement strategies between data center and private cloud

Infrastructure & Cloud Enablement

• Design and implement a hybrid cloud model, including:

• • Networking, security, identity, and connectivity
  • Data and workload distribution

• Define standardized infrastructure tooling and automation frameworks
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption for provisioning and operations
• Design containerization and orchestration platforms across environments

Solution Design & Delivery

• Translate business and functional requirements into:
  • Technical architecture
  • Solution designs and development guidelines
• Evaluate solution options and recommend approaches based on:
  • Strategy alignment
  • Architectural principles
  • Transition and migration plans
• Guide teams through all project phases in collaboration with the PM
• Communicate architectures and solutions clearly to development teams
• Participate in development activities when required, ensuring quality standards

Quality, Testing & Continuous Improvement

• Support test-driven development (TDD) and Agile delivery practices
• Oversee integration testing and validate solutions with stakeholders
• Ensure proper documentation of architecture, solutions, and test results
• Identify risks, issues, and impacts of changes across systems
• Drive continuous improvement and best practices across teams

Leadership, Coaching & Governance

• Act as a technical lead and mentor for engineering teams
• Provide training and coaching on integration technologies and architecture
• Lead architecture reviews and governance processes
• Ensure alignment, consistency, and quality across all initiatives

Secondary Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager during project setup, execution, and evaluation
• Represent business and IT interests in meetings, ensuring alignment and risk mitigation
• Define and execute test scenarios and quality assurance processes
• Manage lessons learned and implement improvement actions
• Support people management and team development

Education & Experience

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar architecture role
• Proven experience in:
  • Enterprise integration architecture
  • Hybrid or private cloud environments

Technical Requirements

Integration & Development

• Expert knowledge of:
  • Java, ESQL
  • IBM MQ, IIB, ACE
  • Web Services (REST/SOAP)
• Experience with event-driven and integration architectures

Infrastructure & Cloud

• Strong experience with:
  • Hybrid cloud and private cloud platforms
  • Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools
  • Containerization and orchestration technologies
• Solid knowledge of:
  • Networking, security, identity, and storage in hybrid environments

Tools & Methodologies

• Agile and Object-Oriented methodologies
• Tools: JIRA, Confluence, SVN, Git
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery
• Strong understanding of IT service and process management
