Job Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role plays a critical part in maintaining regulatory compliance, minimizing risk, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization, particularly in the high-stakes field of cooling tower manufacturing, construction, and maintenance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Management:

    • Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures.

    • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections.

    • Lead the implementation of safety management systems (e.g., OSHA, ISO).

  • Training and Development:

    • Organize and conduct safety training sessions and drills.

    • Train staff on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and emergency procedures.

    • Maintain training records and ensure all employees are up to date on certifications.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).

    • Prepare for and manage external audits and inspections.

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety laws and industry best practices.

  • Incident Management:

    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.

    • Recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

    • Maintain incident reports and analyze trends to improve safety measures.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and employees to address safety concerns.

    • Communicate safety updates and improvements to all levels of the organization.

    • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external safety consultants.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

    • Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or OSHA 30-hour certification are highly desirable.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety management role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial settings.

    • Experience in the cooling tower industry or related heavy industrial sectors is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
