OUR CLIENT:

A well-established construction firm with a strong focus on construction management, general contracting and infrastructure projects across Ontario is seeking a Senior Land Development Planner. With a growing portfolio of large-scale projects, this company is known for its commitment to quality, timelines and employee engagement.

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

This position offers a chance to be part of a fast-paced, growing organization where you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of land development projects from site acquisition to project completion.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Minimum of  6 years of experience in land development planning with proven track record in managing large complex projects. 
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or Environmental Studies.
  • In-depth knowledge of land use regulations, zoning ordinances and development review processes.
  • Strong project management experience including budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation for large-scale projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and government authorities.
RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale complex land development projects, ensuring projects are cost-effective, while also complying with zoning, environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct assessments of possible development sites including zoning analysis, and environmental constraints to determine project feasibility and strategy.
  • Prepare and submit applications, technical reports and presentations to for rezoning, variances and other regulatory approvals.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules and resources to ensure key project deliverables are achieved and key project deliverables are met while managing risk.
  • Lead environmental assessments and develop methods to reduce the impact on at risk environments including wetlands and floodplains.
  • Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams, developers, stakeholders and government agencies to ensure successful project outcomes.
