Job Title: Die Setter – Multiple Shifts
Location: North Vernon, IN (On-site)
Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay is based on experience and interview performance.
Weekend flexibility and overtime may be required.
We are seeking experienced Die Setters to join our team across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. These hands-on roles involve installing tooling, operating and adjusting presses, troubleshooting, and ensuring product quality. Powder metal compacting experience is required for all shifts.
Follow all safety procedures and ensure press safeguards are in place.
Install and set up tooling, including die cavities, punches, and core rods.
Operate and adjust a Cincinnati 550-ton press to meet part specifications.
Inspect compacted parts and make necessary adjustments.
Troubleshoot compaction and delube oven issues; stop production when needed.
Maintain accurate production, scrap, and tooling records.
Perform PMs, daily 5S, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with sorting and reworking discrepant materials.
Complete shift handoffs and participate in maintenance activities.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Powder metal compacting experience required (5+ years preferred).
Hands-on with mechanical/hydraulic presses (Cincinnati 550).
Manufacturing background in metal forging preferred.
Troubleshooting knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Familiar with forging presses, die setup, material flow, and robotics.
Knowledge of metallurgical properties of ferrous/non-ferrous powders.
Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T.
Skilled with inspection tools: micrometers, hardness testers, and CMMs.
40 hours/week, with overtime opportunities.
Drug screen and background check required.
