Maintenance Technician – Forge (2nd & 3rd Shifts)

Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Forge
Location: North Vernon, IN
Schedule: 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift Available | On-site
Pay Rate:
Up to $26/hour
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Temp-to-Hire Opportunity)

Position Overview:
Seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support forge production operations by maintaining equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with operations and engineering to minimize downtime and improve reliability. Ideal for someone with a strong industrial maintenance background and a safety-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on forge and facility equipment

  • Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) and assigned repair tasks

  • Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams regarding repair status and priorities

  • Ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and production-ready

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility

  • Assist with implementation of planned equipment changes or upgrades

  • Contribute to training efforts by sharing maintenance knowledge

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality to ensure uptime and reliability

  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards throughout the plant

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree in Applied Science or Technical field preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing operations (4+ preferred)

  • Working knowledge or exposure to:

    • Basic troubleshooting, hydraulics, and electrical systems

    • Safety practices and Lockout/Tagout procedures

    • Compacting, forging, deflash, double disk grind, shot peen, white light inspection, ink jet printing, magnetic particle inspection, and dip tank systems (preferred)

  • Awareness of ISO9001, IATF16949, and ISO14001 standards

  • Skilled in risk-based thinking, practical problem solving, and organizational communication

  • Computer literacy for tracking PMs and reporting issues

Additional Info:

  • Overtime may be required

  • Drug screen and background check required

  • Tools and PPE provided as needed
