Quality Engineer

About the Role:
A dynamic manufacturing facility is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its team. This position is responsible for driving and improving quality processes within current production operations. Key focuses include managing customer concerns, conducting warranty analysis, identifying systemic issues, and executing root cause problem-solving. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong floor presence and a passion for continuous improvement in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and sampling plans for outsourced components
  • Resolve quality issues through supplier reports, ratings, corrective actions, and other formal methods
  • Identify and address systemic issues with corrective and preventative actions
  • Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Six Sigma tools, and statistical software (Minitab preferred)
  • Recommend and implement manufacturing improvements at the supplier level
  • Create and maintain Control Plans, PFEMAs, Gage R&R studies, and inspection documentation
  • Analyze and improve product drawings using GD&T and dimensional stack-ups
  • Review and disposition non-conforming components to reduce scrap and quality escapes
  • Perform dimensional inspections and train quality techs in effective corrective action processes
  • Support the creation of standards for inspection, testing, and reliability evaluation
  • Lead initiatives for discrepant material handling and cost accountability
  • Participate in advanced quality planning processes including FMEAs, flow diagrams, and project tools

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with Control Plans, PFEMAs, PPAPs, and Root Cause Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PLEX ERP system
  • Proficiency in Minitab or similar statistical analysis software

Work Environment:
Combination of office and manufacturing plant floor. Candidate must be comfortable in both settings with a strong presence on the production floor.
