Job Type: Full-time | Direct Hire | In-Person
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with OT available)
Pay: From $34.00/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team and support our continued growth. This hands-on role involves developing and optimizing CNC programs for both mills and lathes, setting up machines, and working closely with machinists, engineers, quality, and estimating teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining operations, programming software, and the ability to take a part from print to finished product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and write CNC programs for mills and lathes based on blueprints and engineering specs

  • Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, fixturing, and fixture design as needed

  • Run test programs and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency

  • Troubleshoot machining or programming issues in collaboration with machinists and engineers

  • Maintain documentation for program changes and setups

  • Ensure all operations comply with safety standards

  • Assist in training new team members on setup and programming

  • Evaluate new equipment for future programs

  • Work with Sales/Estimating to provide accurate machining time and cost projections for quoting purposes

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience, ideally in a small-shop environment with growth objectives

  • Proficient in G-code and M-code, with experience using CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360 preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and fixturing

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T

  • Comfortable operating and setting up CNC mills and lathes

  • Experience with Fanuc controls required; Mazatrol conversational programming a plus

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Must be able to manage a part from initial print to final product

Must-Haves

  • Ability to independently take a project from print through setup and final machining

  • Proficiency in—or willingness to learn—Fusion 360

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Reliable transportation to Auburn Hills, MI

Schedule

  • 8-hour day shift, Monday to Friday

  • Occasional evening shift coverage as needed
