We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead and manage complex energy performance contracting (EPC) projects from pre-construction through completion. This individual will be responsible for ensuring successful delivery of projects involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes along with general contracting components, with a strong focus on cost, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate brings a proven background in both MEP systems and general construction, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing role requiring both technical acumen and leadership capability.
Lead all phases of performance contracting projects including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, construction, and closeout.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and development teams to finalize project scopes and deliverables.
Manage budgets, monitor cash flow, and ensure financial targets are met or exceeded.
Develop and manage project schedules using tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
Coordinate and supervise MEP and general trades subcontractors throughout all phases of construction.
Implement risk management strategies and ensure all safety and compliance standards are met.
Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor project progress and address issues proactively.
Provide mentorship and leadership to junior project team members and support staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in energy performance contracting or MEP-intensive construction projects.
Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as general construction practices.
Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong knowledge of contract types, project delivery methods, and construction law.
PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
LEED, CEM, or other industry certifications are desirable.
Working knowledge of energy conservation measures (ECMs), building automation systems (BAS), and utility rebate/incentive programs.
Experience with public sector or institutional clients (K-12, higher ed, municipal, healthcare).
Familiarity with ASHRAE Level I-III audits and Measurement & Verification (M&V) protocols.
