Network Permitting Specialist
Miami, FL (must currently live in South Florida) · Telecommunications · $37-40ph DOEAre you experienced in navigating municipal processes and ensuring smooth permitting for telecom infrastructure? We’re seeking a Network Permitting Specialist to support the deployment of communications facilities on poles, fiber networks, and other infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring permitting and entitlement efforts are completed on time, accurately, and in compliance with local codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit zoning and permitting applications; track status and address jurisdictional requests for additional information.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop permit drawings and construction documents for nodes, power, and outside plant (OSP) construction.
- Represent the permitting function in weekly meetings and provide timely updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Interpret and advise on municipal codes; serve as a subject matter expert on entitlement and zoning matters.
- Ensure compliance with permitting conditions throughout construction and site development phases.
- Track and report costs associated with zoning and building permits; ensure reimbursable expenses are accurately billed and reconciled.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local government staff, inspectors, city councils, and planning and zoning departments.
- Represent the company at public hearings and municipal meetings to secure zoning and permit approvals.
- Collaborate with legal and internal teams to ensure permitting requirements are met during network construction and operations.
- Participate in pre-project planning and ensure permit packages meet all municipal and state requirements.
- Coordinate permit close-out processes upon project completion.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in municipal planning, zoning, land use, or a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
- Demonstrated experience in zoning and permitting processes.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a corporate environment and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of planning, zoning codes, and local permitting regulations.
- Ability to interpret construction documents, standards, surveys, and site plans.
- Experience presenting to public and governmental bodies.
- Skilled in preparing supporting documentation for zoning applications, including public or neighborhood presentations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills—capable of managing several projects at once.
- Solid understanding of contracts, agreements, and title documentation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability and willingness to travel to municipal offices and public meetings as needed.
