OSP Field Manager

Our client is bringing next-generation fiber connectivity to the scenic, underserved regions of north-central Arkansas—and we want you to be a part of the journey. We’re seeking a hands-on and experienced Outside Plant Field Manager to lead their Outside Plant (OSP) operations. This position plays a vital role in supervising and coordinating construction, installation, and repair efforts that deliver reliable broadband services to both residential and commercial customers. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all outside plant (OSP) field activities, ensuring high-quality construction, installation, and repair work.
  • Conduct routine quality control visits to verify adherence to project specifications and service standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external contractors to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Track and manage budgets, project schedules, and material usage to meet deadlines and stay cost-effective.
  • Interpret staking sheets, circuit designs, and geographical survey maps to guide field activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal RUS specifications and industry best practices.
  • Analyze service disruptions and lead root cause investigations and trend analysis.
  • Provide leadership and technical support across copper, fiber, and coaxial cable network infrastructure.
Experience & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications or related field preferred; OR a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in telecom or broadband construction, provisioning, and maintenance.
  • Proven knowledge of outside plant construction standards and network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with telecom material and equipment including copper, fiber, and coaxial cable systems.
  • Experience managing field crews or contractors in a telecom environment.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and specifications related to RUS-funded projects.
Key Skills: Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to interpret technical drawings, staking sheets, and construction documents. Customer-focused with the ability to represent the company professionally in the field. Technically proficient in fiber optics and telecom field operations.
