About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Accounting to lead the General Ledger accounting function for a growing organization. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls in compliance with US GAAP.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on accounting leader with strong leadership skills, extensive general ledger experience, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

  • Lead and oversee the General Ledger accounting team, managing four or more staff members
  • Direct the monthly close process, including financial analysis and preparation of month-end deliverables
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data and reporting
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
  • Provide guidance on accounting matters and ensure compliance with US GAAP

Leadership & Team Development

  • Train, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Prioritize team responsibilities and manage workload across daily operations and special projects
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Support annual financial audits and ensure audit readiness
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and financial planning activities
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational efficiencies
  • Ensure new business initiatives are properly integrated into accounting systems and processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Finance, Revenue Accounting, Fixed Assets, and other departments
  • Collaborate with business leaders to support organizational objectives and financial initiatives
  • Support accounting and reporting requirements related to Mexico operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience covering all areas of general accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and US GAAP
  • Experience managing audits, internal controls, and compliance activities
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with SAP and understanding of integrated ERP environments
  • Knowledge of Mexico accounting and reporting requirements
  • Experience in a manufacturing or growth-oriented corporate environment
  • Background implementing process improvements and enhancing accounting controls
