Title: Director, Clinical Services

Job Classification: Exempt, Full-Time
Work Schedule: Generally 8 hours per day per schedule, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p. m.
Salary Range: $80K-$110K, based on experience
Location: On-site at KHA

Position Overview:
This role will provide nursing and clinical expertise across KHA initiatives; and will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop, enhance and implement quality, safety, and clinical workforce related initiatives to support KHA member hospitals.
Essential Functions:
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to identify, develop, enhance and implement quality, safety, and infection prevention related initiatives to support KHA member hospitals.
- Analyze and trend quality and safety performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and education that will be of most benefit to KHA member hospitals.
- Serve as the nurse advisor for KHA’s continuing nursing education providership.
- Provide subject matter expertise regarding nursing and clinical services to KHA members and staff; and advise on clinically-related educational programming.
- Assist with coordination of nursing workforce initiatives and strategies, including enhanced clinical site placement, RN apprenticeships, and assisting with KHA preceptor academies.
- Serve as KHA liaison to nursing allied groups, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders, including the Kansas Organization of Nurse Leaders, Kansas State Board of Nursing, and Kansas Nursing Workforce Center Advisory Board.
- Represent KHA on various workforce committees, including: KCMHC Clinical Onboarding Task Force, Academic Practice Partnership Task Force meetings, various advisory committees for Kansas colleges (ex. FHSU NC Tech and Neosho County CC), and the Kansas Nursing Workforce Center Research Committee.
- Serve as KHA staff lead for behavioral health issues, including staffing KHA’s behavioral health committee.
- Serve as KHA staff lead on workplace violence and work with Allied organizations and members to develop and enhance tools and resources to reduce workforce violence across KHA member facilities.
- Serve as the KHA representative on statewide advisory committees, including the KDHE Newborn Screening Advisory Council and the Kansas Healthcare Acquired Infection/Antimicrobial Resistance Advisory Committee; and assist with coverage for the KHA Representative on the Kansas Maternal Mortality Review Committee and Kansas Perinatal Quality Collaborative.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a Health Care related field; nursing degree and/or graduate degree preferred
- At least five years of experience in the hospital setting, with at least two years of leadership or management experience
- Skilled communicator with coaching/teaching/facilitation experience
- Must possess at least a basic knowledge of the health care delivery system
- Ability to problem solve rationally and with common sense
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions either written, oral, diagram, schedule or electronic formats
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to efficiently accomplish tasks while managing multiple projects at the same time and delivering friendly service
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to respect diversity and individual needs
- Ability to travel as required or requested; valid driver’s license for travel is required
- Proficient math skills (basic math principles, computations and interpretation of graphs)
- Experience utilizing Microsoft 365 products and video-conferencing
- Presents self with professionalism while representing KHA at events (local, state and national events)
Physical Demands:
- Lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work on the computer for extended hours at a time and concentrate on detailed information
- Bend, kneel and reach items with use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Vision abilities for close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
